How to install Outlook Add-in and Gmail Add-in

With the Firefish Email add-in you can easily send candidate and contact emails straight to Firefish from your inbox, making your admin a little bit easier. Any candidate documents and CVs uploaded will be added to candidates' records and will be searchable within a matter of minutes.

You'll just need to make sure you install the right add-in version for the emails you use. Check out the chart below to help you to decide whether you should install the Outlook or Gmail version, then once you've decided, click on the relevant Installation Instructions link to get your add-in set up:

Installing the Outlook add-in

The Outlook Add-in is available to install directly from Microsoft's Office Store.

Installing the Outlook Add-in will differ slightly depending on whether you're using Outlook on Windows, Mac or on the web. You'll find installation instructions for each below.

Outlook for Microsoft 365 (Mac)

Check out this short video or follow the steps below to install:

 

1. While in the Home tab, click on Get Add-ins:

2. Using the Search field at the top right of the page, search for 'Firefish'.

3. Next, click Add and wait for the add-in to be installed.

4. Once you close the Add-ins pop up window, you'll see the Firefish icon has appeared on Outlook under the Home tab. Click the Firefish icon to get started.

5. Enter your Firefish URL (the website you use to login to Firefish) then click Sign In. Next, enter your Firefish username and password and click OK to authorise.

 

Now you can start using the Outlook Add-in.


Outlook for Microsoft 365 (Windows)

Check out this short video or follow the steps below to install:

 

1. Go to File > Manage Add-ins at the bottom of the page. This will open up your email account on a web browser. Login to proceed.

2. Click the + icon then "Add from the Office Store". You'll be redirected to Microsoft AppSource where you can search for 'Firefish'.

3. Click on 'Firefish for Outlook' then 'Get it Now'. Once you click Continue on the agreement pop up you'll be redirected back to Outlook on the web where you can complete the installation.

4. Once installed, go back to Outlook Desktop where you'll see the Firefish icon has appeared on your Outlook under the Home tab. Click the icon > Firefish to get started.

5. Enter your Firefish URL (the website you use to login to Firefish) then click Sign In. You can then enter your Firefish username and password and click OK to authorise.

 

Now you can start using the Outlook Add-in.


Outlook on the Web

Check out this short video or follow the steps below to install:

1. If you're using Outlook on the web, click on the 'App Launcher' icon in the top left-hand corner, it's to the left of the word "Outlook".

2. When the sidebar opens click 'All apps ->' then select 'Add-Ins'. You'll then be automatically directed to the Outlook App Store. Using the search bar, type in "Firefish."

3. Click on 'Firefish for Outook' from the auto-suggest drop-down that appears; you will be auto-directed to the add-in page where you can select 'Get it Now'. Once you click Continue on the agreement pop up you'll be redirected back to Outlook on the web where you can complete the installation.

4. Once installed, go back to your inbox and open an email. Click on the ellipsis icon in the top right-hand corner of the open email for 'More actions'. Scroll down the pop-out menu and select Firefish from the list. Click 'Firefish' on the sub-menu to confirm and your add-in will now open.

5. Enter your Firefish URL (the website you use to login to Firefish) then click Sign In. You can then enter your Firefish username and password and click OK to authorise.

 

Now you can start using the Outlook Add-in.


Installing the Gmail add-in

The Gmail Add-in is available to install directly from G Suite Marketplace.

Check out this short video or follow to steps below to install:

 

1. From your Gmail inbox, click the + icon on the right hand side toolbar - G Suite Marketplace will open in a new window.

2. Using the Search field at the top right of the page, search for 'Firefish'.

3. Next, click the Firefish for Gmail tile then Install once you're taken to the add-in page.

4. Follow the Gmail setup wizard by choosing which account to install the add-in to and allowing the described permissions. You'll then see a message confirming the add-in has been installed.

5. Go back to your inbox and you should see the Firefish icon added to your right hand side toolbar. Click the icon to open the add-in.

6. Click Authorise then enter your Firefish URL (the website you use to login to Firefish) then click Sign In. You can then enter your Firefish username and password and click OK to authorise.

 

Now you can start using the Gmail Add-in.
