Keep Permanent Candidates Moving from Start to Finish
Build a consistent candidate journey from first application through successful probation
Permanent recruitment can lose momentum at predictable points: between interviews, after offer acceptance, during the notice period and after the start date. When recruiters record and follow up differently, it becomes difficult to see what has happened, what should happen next and where the process is starting to slip.
In this session, learn how to create a visible, consistent candidate journey using four practical parts of Firefish: Activities, Candidate Email Sequences, dashboard actions and follow-ups. The aim is to give recruiters a clear route through the process without turning every conversation into a script.
You'll discover how to define the trigger, owner, action and evidence at each stage, standardise the interactions that matter most, combine automation with personal check-ins, and continue candidate aftercare through probation.

How to Use the Activities Library
Create a focused set of permanent candidate activities and templates for the interactions that matter most, such as qualification, interview preparation, debriefs, offer check-ins and probation reviews. Consistent activity names make reporting clearer while templates give recruiters a useful starting point.
Create and Configure Candidate Email Sequences
Build a simple offer-to-start sequence for repeatable congratulations, next-step information and notice-period reassurance. Check that the candidate has a valid email address and Automations switched on before enrolment, and keep personal calls in the workflow wherever judgement or reassurance is needed.
Managing Candidates After Their Placement
Use the New Start item in the Jobs area of the dashboard, follow-up reminders and probationary review prompts to keep successful placements visible after day one. A simple aftercare rhythm helps recruiters spot early issues and maintain the relationship until the placement is established.
