Advertise and Promote Your Company's Public Events With the Firefish Events Plugin

The Firefish Events Plugin allows you to showcase your company events on your website, allowing visitors to see what events you are hosting and/or attending as a business. 


Managing Events

The Events Plugin can be accessed via Website > Events Plugin in the CMS.

Events List Page

This page provides an overview of existing Events. It includes the following columns:

  • Checkbox β€“ Select multiple records to delete.

  • Re-order Icon – Drag and drop events to adjust their display order.

  • Created By – Displays the user who created the event.

  • Title – The event’s title.

    • Clicking the view page icon opens the event in a new tab.

  • Featured Card Status - shows whether a event is featured or not

    • Green β€“ Enabled

    • Red β€“ Disabled

  • List Page - shows whether the event is visible on your list pages
    • Green - Visible
    • Red - Hidden
  • Testimonial Page Status - the published status for your event

    • Green β€“ Published & live

    • Orange β€“ Scheduled for future publishing

    • Red β€“ Draft (no set publish date)

  • Published Date – Shows when the event went live.

  • Tags – Displays the tags assigned to the event.

Actions

  • Edit – Click the ✏️ (pencil) icon to modify the event.

  • Delete – Click the πŸ—‘οΈ (trashcan) icon to remove a event.

    • A confirmation prompt will appear before deletion.

  • Preview - Preview the event pages on your site
  • + Add New - Create a new event for your site

Creating & Editing Events

Adding a New Testimonial

To add a new testimonial:

  1. Click the + Add New button at the top of the page.

  2. The Edit Event side panel will appear.

Note: To display testimonials on your website, you must create a content page with the page type set to Event Plugin.


Event Edit Panel: Tab Structure

The Edit Event panel consists of four main tabs:

1. Featured Card

Controls the visibility and preview content of events.

  • Enabled Toggle β€“ Enables or disables the featured card for display.

  • List Page - controls whether the event is visible in the List Page.
  • Image β€“ Upload an image using drag-and-drop or file browsing. Supported formats: .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .png.

  • Text – A short introduction for the event.

    • Includes a Copy from Content button to auto-fill the introduction from the main content.

  • Tags β€“ Helps categorize testimonials for filtering on the website.

2. Event Page

Manages the main content and publication settings.

  • Title – The event’s title, displayed on the website.

  • Image – Upload an image for the event.

  • Content – Enter the main event text. You can also embed images, videos, or custom HTML.

  • Publish Date/Time – Schedule when the event goes live. If a future date is set, the event will remain unpublished until that date.

3. SEO

Optimizes the event for search engines and social media.

  • SEO Title β€“ Automatically generated but can be edited.

  • Keywords β€“ Helps improve search ranking.

  • Description – Summary of the event for SEO.

  • Social Image β€“ Specify an image for sharing on social media.

  • URL – A read-only field with the event’s URL. Click to copy.

  • Suggestions - Use the suggest wand in each section to automatically generate relevant SEO content using the event title and content

4. Settings

Controls additional event details.

  • Event Date - The date the event appears in the website calendar

  • Show Form - controls whether an event registration form is shown on the event entry.

  • Default Recruiter - determines who will be notified for any visitors registering interest via the form
