How to Set up and Use the Payemoji Integration

Start Conversations and Send Instant Messages via WhatsApp by Connecting Firefish to the Payemoji Platform

What is Payemoji?

Payemoji is a messaging and WhatsApp for Business service that enables any journey through Conversational AI.

Using the platform, you can keep in touch with your candidates, handle incoming conversations using AI and initiate WhatsApp conversations from directly in Firefish.

How to Enable Payemoji

Enabling Payemoji is done in the Integration Settings menu. A super user can go to Settings > Integrations > Messaging and click Enable for Payemoji.

Once you have enabled the integration, you will receive a Client ID and Client Secret. Add these details into your Payemoji account to link the two platforms by clicking on Actor Config -> Third Party Integrations

Note - You must also type in a Candidate Source when setting up the integration in Payemoji. We recommend setting this to the default value provided by Firefish which is "Payemoji".

This will set the original source on any candidate created via this integration to "Payemoji".

How to sync messages & candidates between Firefish & Payemoji

Once Payemoji is enabled, any messages sent or received via the platform will be automatically synced to a person's record in Firefish as an Instant Message call note in their Recent Activity.

Ensure these features are enabled in Payemoji by switching on all capabilities, setting the channel type to "WhatsApp" and setting the template to "Can We Chat"

Payemoji rely on the candidate's mobile phone number to match the records. All phone numbers are stripped of blank spaces and special characters, and sent to Payemoji using the international standard format (E.164), which includes using your default code (configurable by your super user in Settings > System Configuration) If that's not been added.

If enabled, when Payemoji cannot match an incoming conversation to a candidate in Firefish, they will instead create a new candidate record in Firefish.

 

How to Send Instant Messages via Payemoji

Payemoji regularly collects both individual and bulk instant messages sent from Firefish according to a schedule.

How to Send an Individual Instant Message

To start a conversation with an individual instant message from Firefish, click the Call & Message button, and choose Message.

In the message modal, choose to send via Instant Message. At this point, you can also add any follow up dates or link the message to a job record

How to Send a Bulk Instant Message

To start multiple conversations at once with an instant message from Firefish, conduct a search and from the results screen, click the Message button.

In the Bulk Message modal, choose 'Instant Messaging' from the send via dropdown, and add any follow up date you wish to add. The merge field will be replaced by each person's First Name when Payemoji collect the message.

Note - People with invalid or missing phone numbers and those who have been unsubscribed to message marketing will automatically be excluded.

Why Can't I Edit the Instant Message Content?

Instant message providers such as WhatsApp for Business insist on pre-approved templates for all new outgoing messages in order to get the conversation started.

This helps to protect users against spam and inappropriate contact via the platform.

To ensure that your Instant Messages are not blocked or prevented from reaching their intended recipient, Firefish has worked together with Payemoji to provide a pre-approved template for starting conversations from within Firefish.

Once you have started your conversation in Firefish, you can continue it in Payemoji and any replies will be synced back to the record.
