How to use our Firefish Sourcing Extension to instantly create and update candidates and contacts in your Firefish Database

Getting Started
- If you haven't already, make sure that you have the Chrome Extension installed already.
- Click the Firefish icon in your browser toolbar to open the extension.
Searching Your Database
You can search Firefish in two ways:
From any web page:

Navigate to a profile page.

Highlight the person’s name or email address of the person you which to create or update in Firefish.

Right-click the highlighted text and select Search Firefish.
This will open the extension and automatically search your CRM for matching candidates or contacts that match the name or email address.
From LinkedIn:

Open a LinkedIn profile.
-
Click the Firefish icon in your browser toolbar.
- A search will be conducted automatically.
Create or Update a Contact
To Create a New Contact:

In the extension, ensure the Contact tab is selected from the search results page.

Click Create New.
-
A new window will open, allowing you to populate empty fields.
- If the Company your new Contact works for already exists on the database, you can search for them within the Employer field which will link them together.
- Save to create the record on Firefish.

You’ll be shown a Jump To link—click it to view the contact in Firefish instantly.
To Update an Existing Contact:

From the search results, click the contact you want to update.

Edit any information, such as job title or employer.

Click Update to save changes directly to Firefish.
Create or Update a Candidate
To Create a New Candidate:

Highlight a candidate’s name or email address on any profile.
-
Right-click and choose Search Firefish.

Select the Candidate tab in the extension.

Click Create New.

The extension will auto-fill basic info such as first name, surname, and the website or LinkedIn URL you sourced from.

Complete the form with:
-
GDPR legal basis
-
Marketing preferences
-
Job-seeking preferences
-
Add to job consideration lists or adverts.

Drag and drop a CV file from your desktop into the extension (optional).

Click Save—you’ll receive a Jump To link to access the record in Firefish.
To Update an Existing Candidate:

From the search results, click the candidate’s name.

Update their details in the form that appears.
-
Click Update to save.
