System/Personal Emails Automatically Connecting to Incorrect Email Address

Why are my emails going from the incorrect email address?

Sometimes when connecting your email to Firefish, your browser or device will automatically detect and sign in with an email address you did not intend to use — especially if you have already signed into a Microsoft or Google account in another tab. This can result in an incorrect email address being used for either system or personal emails in Firefish.

⚠️ Note: Firefish does not see or store your login credentials when you connect via Microsoft 365 or Gmail. Instead, your email provider gives Firefish a secure permission (sometimes called a “token”) to send email on your behalf.

Fixing System Email Connection

Firefish sends system emails automatically without a user clicking ‘send.’ Examples include job alerts, password resets, and application confirmation emails.

If your system emails are connected to the wrong address, a Super User should follow these steps:

  1. Press the ... menu in the top-right corner of your browser.

  2. Open a New Incognito (Chrome) or New InPrivate (Edge) window.

  3. Navigate to your login page and sign in.
  4. Go to Settings (⚙️ icon) > Integrations.

  6. Press Login on the right-hand side.

  7. When redirected to your email host, enter the login details for the correct email address.
  8. After returning to Firefish, scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your email address in the highlighted field, and click Test & Save.

Expected result: You will receive a test email from the newly connected address, confirming the change was successful.

 


Fixing Personal Email Connection

Users send personal emails when they click the ‘send’ button in Firefish. Examples include bulk emails, meeting confirmations, and offer emails.

If your personal emails are connected to the wrong address, follow these steps:

  1. Press the ... menu in the top-right corner of your browser.

  2. Open a New Incognito (Chrome) or New InPrivate (Edge) window.

  3. Navigate to your login page and sign in.
  4. Go to Hello > My Integrations.

  5. If you are already connected to an email account, press Logout on the right-hand side.Personal email integration: Logout button
  6. Press Login on the right-hand side.

  7. When redirected to your email host, enter the login details for the correct email address.
  8. After returning to Firefish, scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your email address in the highlighted field, and click Test & Save.
