How to Use the Chrome Extension to Create and Update Candidates and Contacts

How to use our Chrome Extension to instantly create and update candidates and contacts in your Firefish Database

The Firefish Chrome Extension for  allows you to seamlessly create and update candidate and contact records in your Firefish database. The extension works by reading a person's Social Media Profile, and then automatically populating the fields with relevant information.

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to a profile on.
  2. If you haven't already, make sure that you have the Chrome Extension installed already. 
  3. Click the Firefish icon in your browser toolbar to open the extension.
  4. The extension automatically detect any existing records on your database with a matching full name, LinkedIn URL or email address.

 

Contact Record

  1. Navigate to the Contact tab in the extension.
  2. Select Create New.
  3. The extension will automatically capture relevant information which the user has visible on their public profile (name, email address, current job title, etc).
  4. You can accept or reject each auto-populated item by selecting the tick or cross icons which appears at the right of each field (taking no action will accept the populated data).
  5. You can also manually update any of the available fields yourself.
  6. If the Company your new Contact works for already exists on the database, you can search for them within the Employer field which will link them together.
  7. Save to create the record on Firefish.

 

Candidate Record

  1. Navigate to the Candidate tab in the extension/
  2. Select Create New.
  3. The extension will automatically capture relevant information which the LinkedIn user has visible on their public profile (name, email address, current job title, etc).
  4. You can accept or reject each auto-populated item by selecting the tick or cross icons which appears at the right of each field (taking no action will accept the populated data).
  5. You can also manually update any of the available fields yourself.
  6. In order to create the record, you must set the Legal Basis.



  7. Make sure to set communication preferences on the Marketing tab, code your candidate on the Preference tab so that they system can match them to relevant Jobs, and link the candidate to any suitable Adverts/Jobs on the Application tab.

  8. You can add a CV by selecting the Drop File icon at the top of the extension. Alternatively, you can select More on the LinkedIn record then Save to PDF, a full profile CV will be automatically uploaded as CV into this field.

  9. Save to create the record on Firefish.

 

Editing an Existing Record

  1. Click on the result in the extension when a match is found
  2. Any new information will automatically populate in the relevant fields, and this can be accepted or rejected using the tick or cross icons which appears at the right of each field (taking no action will accept the populated data)
  3. Select Update to save any changes to Firefish

NOTE: If a candidate record exists, you’ll get a notification when creating a new contact with the same details. Go to Firefish and activate the contact before proceeding.
